Experts in Nanotechnology and Antibacterial Copper

Technology

Our additive NanoCu PCZ001 has a unique technology, developed and patented by the University of Chile, that allows the absorption of copper-based nanostructures on the surface of an inert carrier, thus achieving prolonged antimicrobial action according to the needs of the product.

In addition, copper is the only metal certified by EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) as an antimicrobial agent and is effective against microorganisms resistant to antibiotics, such as Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci (VRE), Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE).

The antimicrobial additive contained in a polymeric matrix or resin, is incorporated into the manufacturing process of the product. Once there, the additive acts releasing copper ions in a continuous and controlled manner.

The microorganisms that come in contact with the product surface, suffer irreparable damage to their membrane and cellular structure, which leads to their destruction. For more information download our technical brochure.
